limited amenities. Cleanliness and comfort may vary, but this simplicity is
part of the authentic experience.
Come prepared, stay flexible, and embrace the cultural immersion this is
where the most meaningful travel moments happen.
2.
Weather & Climate
Sumatra sits
directly on the equator and is covered by tropical rainforest. The climate is hot,
humid, and unpredictable throughout the year.
- Dry season: May to September (occasional
tropical showers still possible)

and heavy rain)
- Average temperature: Around 30°C in lowland
areas like Maninjau and Bukittinggi
- Conditions can feel sticky,

Cultural Respect & Dress Code
Minangkabau
communities hold strong cultural traditions and values. Respecting their
customs is essential for a positive and meaningful interaction.

helps build trust and allows for deeper cultural engagement and better
photography opportunities.
