Practical Information

Terms & Conditions / Things to Know Before the Trip

1. Accommodation & Local Conditions

This journey includes visits to remote villages and countryside areas where living standards differ from Western-style comfort. Expect basic facilities, simple rooms, and limited amenities. Cleanliness and comfort may vary, but this simplicity is part of the authentic experience.
Come prepared, stay flexible, and embrace the cultural immersion this is where the most meaningful travel moments happen.

2. Weather & Climate

Sumatra sits directly on the equator and is covered by tropical rainforest. The climate is hot, humid, and unpredictable throughout the year.

Minangkabau communities hold strong cultural traditions and values. Respecting their customs is essential for a positive and meaningful interaction.

  • Wear clothing that covers shoulders and knees for both men and women.
