A. Eru Mamak, Founder & Local Expert
Before
transitioning into guiding, I worked with several local and international NGOs
on Siberut Island, managing a variety of field projects. Driven by a deep
passion for history, culture, and linguistics, and supported by my degree in History. I committed myself to helping travelers immerse themselves authentically
in the Mentawai way of life. With a foundation of strong organizational skills,
deep local roots, and extensive regional knowledge, I have focused my career on
building community-based and sustainable ecotourism on Siberut Island. I
believe that immersive travel should be more than just an adventure; it should
be an enriching, educational experience that fosters a genuine understanding of
our cultural heritage.
As a
dedicated and experienced guide, I am fluent in French and Spanish and
have spent the past 13 years crafting unforgettable journeys across the Mentawai
islands as well as Sumatra in general. My goal is to turn every trip into a
meaningful adventure filled with authentic cultural exchanges and discovery.
